We are writing to you today for your help with a matter of the utmost importance regarding the IUEC Pension Plan as well as other multi-employer pension plans.
General Secretary-Treasurer McGann has written articles recently, in the Elevator Constructor, regarding a proposal that some members of the Joint Select Committee are considering that would negatively affect all multi-employer pension plans, including ours.
If put into law, this proposal would have a devastating impact on healthy plans, such as ours and could result in tripling our required contribution rate or slashing our pension benefits to the bone. While we support the efforts to find solutions for troubled multi-employer plans, we are deeply concerned that this committee might recommend changes to the law that could significantly damage our healthy pension plan.
We have attached two letters. One that all members should send to their respective Representatives
in the House and Congress. The other should be sent to the Joint SelectiveCommittee.
We need every member to send these letters,as soon as possible,to their Representatives and the
Committee to aide us in these efforts to keep our pension plan secure.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO KEEP THE IUEC PENSION PLAN SECURE!
Under Political Action tab you can print all letters that apply.
